grub loading stage 1.5 error22
Hello,
I have Win XP and Ubuntu 9.04. When I loaded Ub, I did not make the partition large enough, and cannot install Ub 9.10, so I deleted the partition containing Ub 9.04 in order to start again from my Live CD. However, now I cannot boot from my CD and just get error 22. I get the HP logo on start up then the error page. Is there any recovery disc that I can use to boot from? |
If you were to google using the search term 'error 22 boot' you would find this recommendation elsewhere on the internet:
put your windows cd in & boot from it, choose recovery console & at the prompt type fixmbr & press enter, take out cd & rebootAnytime you have a specific error message such as this, google should be your first troubleshooting resource. Emotional Friend |
You can go into the BIOS and change the boot order to make sure it boots from CD-ROM before HDD. Then put in the Ubuntu install CD and reinstall.

I did this, in fact it was my visit that led me to this site from which I have received a complete answer to my problem. You will be pleased to hear that I am now back in business with Ubuntu re-installed with a larger partition. |
