grub loading stage 1.5 error22

Hello,
I have Win XP and Ubuntu 9.04. When I loaded Ub, I did not make the partition large enough, and cannot install Ub 9.10, so I deleted the partition containing Ub 9.04 in order to start again from my Live CD.
However, now I cannot boot from my CD and just get error 22.
I get the HP logo on start up then the error page.
Is there any recovery disc that I can use to boot from?

If you were to google using the search term 'error 22 boot' you would find this recommendation elsewhere on the internet:
put your windows cd in & boot from it, choose recovery console & at the prompt type fixmbr & press enter, take out cd & reboot
Anytime you have a specific error message such as this, google should be your first troubleshooting resource.

You can go into the BIOS and change the boot order to make sure it boots from CD-ROM before HDD. Then put in the Ubuntu install CD and reinstall.

Many thanks for your response and your suggestion to visit Google first.
I did this, in fact it was my visit that led me to this site from which I have received a complete answer to my problem.
You will be pleased to hear that I am now back in business with Ubuntu re-installed with a larger partition.

Grub manual also has some troubleshooting help.
