grub, lilo and LVM help please

I downloaded a copy of MythDora (http://g-ding.tv/?q=MythDoraV1.5), an iso of FC3 set up for MythTV.
Burned and booted. It wanted an hdd all of its own, so I removed my Mandrake 2005LE disk (kernel 2.6.11-12mdk) , and put in a clean one.
MythDora installed. I have spent three days configuring it, and it is still not working, but I am persevering!

I miss my Mandrake 2005LE, so I put that disk back in as master (hda), and set MythDora to be the slave (hdb). Mandriva is back. Now I need to mount the MythDora partitions so I can work out how to add MythDora to my lilo menu.
I have a couple of problems here:

1] hdb looks like this:
Code:
#fdisk -l /dev/hdb

Disk /dev/hdb: 160.0 GB, 160041885696 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 19457 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

   Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hdb1   *           1          13      104391   83  Linux
/dev/hdb2              14       19457   156183930   8e  Linux LVM
I can mount /dev/hdb1, which is MythDora's boot partition, but I cannot work out how to mount /dev/hdb2 which is an LVM. I would like to be able to mount this partition in Mandriva, so I can have a poke around the MythDora config files from the safety and convenience of Mandriva (MythDora has a very ugly window-manager, and a very basic set of tools because it is essentially "just" a PVR application).

So, how can I mount /dev/hdb2 ?

2] I can see MythDora's grub.conf, and it looks like this:
Code:
# grub.conf generated by anaconda
#
# Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this file
# NOTICE: You have a /boot partition. This means that
# all kernel and initrd paths are relative to /boot/, eg.
#          root (hd0,0)
#          kernel /vmlinuz-version ro root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00
#          initrd /initrd-version.img
#boot=/dev/hda
default=0
timeout=5
splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz
hiddenmenu
title MythDora (2.6.12-1.1372_FC3)
        root (hd0,0)
        kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.12-1.1372_FC3 ro root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00
        initrd /initrd-2.6.12-1.1372_FC3.img
How should I translate this into a suitable entry in my lilo.conf which is on hda?

You will need to edit the Mandrake grub.conf and add MythDora to it. Add the below to the end of your grub.conf on ur primary drive

title MythDora (2.6.12-1.1372_FC3)
root (hd0,0)
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.12-1.1372_FC3 ro root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00
initrd /initrd-2.6.12-1.1372_FC3.img

Thanks for your reply. Part of the trouble is that Mandriva uses lilo.

First I copied the following files from MythDora's /boot to Mandriva's /boot :

config-2.6.12-1.1372_FC3
initrd-2.6.12-1.1372_FC3.img
System.map-2.6.12-1.1372_FC3
vmlinuz-2.6.12-1.1372_FC3

I then tried putting the following in Mandriva's (the primary drive) lilo.conf:
Code:
image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.12-1.1372_FC3
label="MythDora"
root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00
initrd=/boot/initrd-2.6.12-1.1372_FC3.img
append="ramdisk_size=8192"
read-only
But when I ran lilo, it choked:

Fatal: Illegal 'root=' specification: /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00

So I am stuck. Any suggestions?

Update:

I managed to get lilo to boot MythDora by a process of trial & error.
For the record, the entry for lilo.conf that worked is:

Code:
image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.12-1.1372_FC3
label="MythDora"
initrd=/boot/initrd-2.6.12-1.1372_FC3.img
append="ro root=/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00"
I think I'll have to install LVM2 to Mandriva if I am going to be able to read the MythDora LVM partition from there.

Thanks for your help.
