Grub Error when opening Vista

Hi,
I have a Grub Error 22 when opening VIsta. I cannot get into Vista at all.
I use Vista home premium, Asus F series laptop and am using Ubuntu 9.04.
When clicking on vista loader, I get an error 'Cannot open file C:\Recovery.dat.

Before installing Ubuntu I did not have this problem.

Please help.

Sounds like a partitioning problem....

Can you load linux? If so, open a command prompt and type:
(if your not sure how to open a command prompt, simply press cntrl-alt-F2 and log in)

sudo fdisk /dev/hda
(or)
sudo fdisk /dev/sda

then type "p" (no quotes)

what is display?
