Grub error

When I try to startup SuSE 9.1 personal with Grub, I get this error:

Error 18: Selected Cylinder Exceeds maximum supported by Bios

I get it when I try to set the root, i type:
root (hd0,2)
and then the error comes up, anyone know what the problem could be?

I take it this is an older BIOS. There are two feasible solutions.

1. The easiest is to update your BIOS, most older BIOSes will have updates for this. For more info check out your motherboard manufacturter's webpage

2. You could recompile the kernel to include Auto-Geometry resizing support. This inherently involves getting into your SUSE OS, but I beleive one can bypass this by compiling from Knoppix.

I'll eleaborate more when I hear what you want to do, hopefully number 1 will work.
