Grub (error 17) won't boot after new motherboard/vid card.. boot disk anyone?

Hi, I installed an Nforce 2 motherboard from a Kt4 and now linux won't boot. Grub says, "Grub loading, please wait... Error 17" I tried a libranet boot disk but then I get a kernel panic. Anyone have a downloadable boot disk for kernel 2.6 that works with debian?

If not, how can I solve this without reformatting as I just did and don't want to start over again.

Thanks

what distro are you using and did you configure/compile the kernel yourself?
