Unhappy grub.conf got corrupted

Hii everyone...

Got a new problem this time... I tried to start my system & instead to boot menu, i got this "grub>" thing...

i recovered the O/s & now its working, but i donno how to restore grub.conf file & now the issue is every time i'll start my system i'll get that same grub> & i'll have to do that entire process of loading the Kernel & initrd...

please let me know how will i restore (or reconfigure) grub.conf file...

Post the contents of the grub.conf file and the output from the fdisk -l command.

Or you could google bootinfoscript, download and run it and post the content here. Gives a lot more information on your system.

The command 'sudo update-grub' run from terminal in linux is generally mentioned for correcting grub entries.

Which linux distro you are using?
