Grub-bootload problem
 

Hello World!

I have installed dual-boot Manjaro Linux and Windows 10 on my laptop. At first days I had installed Manjaro, I had the option to choose which OS I want to boot.

Recently, when I power on my laptop, Windows 10 is booted (I haven't the option to choose which OS I want to boot). Booting Manjaro is required to go to BIOS Settings.

It sounds like one of those situations where Windows 10 is obligatorily installed in UEFI mode (the only mode it supports), and your linux distro (Manjaro) has been installed in BIOS mode. Some details on your hardware would be useful (including the firmware type and confirmation as to whether it supports legacy-BIOS mode (I suspect so ...).

If the situation is as I suspect, my advice would be to :

- Try using efibootmgr to point to the proper boot loader (GRUB instead of the Windows EFI stub).

- If that doesn't work, remove Manjaro and start over, being careful to reinstall it with GRUB in UEFI mode.

Given what you have already accomplished, I am assuming that you have done all the repartitioning and file system preparations already.

If it used to work, perhaps more likely Win10 got an update and "fixed" the default boot. As suggested, changing the default back to grub using efibootmgr is simplest.
