Ok, I installed SP2 (Service Pack 2) on WindowsXP and Grub disapeared, how do I get it back, I can no longer access the HD with Fadora Core 2 on it, I miss it.

do you have a rescue boot floppy? you should always make one when you install...

Not that it will help: but take service pack 2 off... it's nothing but trouble... piece of crap...

anyways... if you do not have the boot floppy than perhaps boot from the CD and you should able to reinstall grub throm there... or you might have to to an upgrade install... so that you keep your programs....

boot from the FC cd and at the boot prompt write "linux rescue". That will start your installation CD as a live rescue CD.

Once it's up and running do "chroot /mnt/sysimage" (change root to the original FC root on your hard disk) and check if you can access /boot. If you can continue with the last step. If not mount root (something like "mount /dev/hda2 /boot")

do "grub-install /dev/hda" and voila, the next time you start your PC you should see your old GRUB back where it belongs.
