Some more Details

I am a 2nd year engineering student and just started learning unix

my field of interest for the above project is to develop a simple game

also if nebdy can help me towards how to attach a user created application to the application menu of fedora core so that ne1 can access it without having slightest idea of programming at all.

Welcome to LQ!!

PLEASE!! Do not write posts here using the texting shorthand (SMS or whatever it is called). In this case, some of your writing is almost unintelligible.

I would start with "Beginning Linux Programming" from Wrox. It will be available at any large bookstore or on Amazon. You may also find some on-line tutorials by starting at the sites for the two main toolkits: Gtk and Qt (Google will find them)

Good luck and don't hesitate to come back with more specific questions...

You could have a look at the Allegro Game Programming Library or the SDL Toolkit for core graphics programming. Reading their documentations and running their samples will give a good introduction and fast and predictable results.

BTW, what does 'ne1' mean? (Sorry for not being that trendy and up-to-date)
