graphics driver
ok not to ask a dumb question but im not sure if my ati drivers are installed correctly.
Im running suse with all the updates. i followed the guide they have for installing the drivers and everything seemed to go well. but when i type fglrxinfo i get the following. x1-6-00-07-e9-6d-24-c0:~> fglrxinfo display: :0.0 screen: 0 OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.4 Mesa 5.0.2) if i go into system and click on the ati control panel it comes up with no problem and i can adjust the color and stuff. but at the bottom it says that the "vender" "render" and "version" strings are all mesa. i really have no problems except when i try to run ut2004 i get a video error. i want to be sure the drivers are right before i try to fix that problem. |
UT2004 is a 3D Game. ATI's support for Linux is absolutly pathetic. Have you gotten this card to work with 3D under Linux before? Also, you should http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_pe...ned.cgi?atipet
sign this petition. Maybe if money is not a problem try to pick up a lower end nvidia card. I know in Canada I can get a Geforce FX 5200 for around 90 bucks. Anyways, sorry I couldn't be of anymore help |
