gpg help

I just need to know when I run gpg openSUSE-11.1-KDE4-LiveCD-x86_64.iso.asc in the terminal with openSUSE-11.1-KDE4-LiveCD-x86_64.iso in the same directory, gpg checks both files

It checks .iso file using .iso.asc file's PGP signature so in some sense it checks both these files. Try to change one sign in PGP signature or one byte in .iso file and you'll see an error message.
