got GRUB working OK


Just wanted to say thanks for the help you guys gave me.
I finally got my boot screen to offer : Redhat linux/Windows XP instead of RH/DOS.
Not a big deal but it taught me to:
Log in as su- at the terminal (I'm still assuming this is the same as "command line?")
Fire up vi and use it in command/edit plus a few simple commands
Now to get my printer working...

good! check your other thread for a note on how to open files as root using gedit if you want to.

Yea, been doing a lot of searching for all kinds of stuff. I try to research before posting but I get lost in the jargon sometimes.
