Google earth disappears after download with Synaptic in PCLinuxos2007

Hi,I am newbie to linux,Ihave downloaded google earth with synaptic inPClinuxos2007,it says package installed, but I can't find it anywhere,in my home folder etc,I had it installed before and it came up with message saying update which I tried to do,then it crashed my linux,so I deleted it then rebooted and then downloaded the software from synaptic package manager again but don't know how to find it, this package manager has loaded two programs after that and they installed into the correct folders automatically,I have'nt learned how to install using the command line instructions in a terminal, any Ideas where it has gone, the version of Google earth is 4.2.198.2451-1pclos
thanks for any answers. jack, silver surfer.

Google earth is proprietary software, so it's almost assuredly not in synaptic.

In Debian/Ubuntu (which also use Synaptic, so I'd guess you're in the same boat), the repository entries for google earth are simply the libraries that google earth needs to link against during runtime. After you install those libs, you still have to go to http://earth.google.com/ , download & run the installer to get the actual google earth program.
Hint: run the installer as root or as a sudoer to install for all users on your machine, otherwise, you'll install it only for yourself (if that matters).

once it's installed, it will show up in your Applications menu under "Inernet"
