Good way to learn Linux

A lot of good info in this thread:

For beginners, and advanced users as well. Go over it, bookmark it. Very useful thread!

Personally I found the site rather creepy. I guess the thread itself is OK, but I didn't give it much read given the site, the poster's name, and so forth. To each their own.

However, I recommend caution. The funny URL tipped me off.

Yeah but it brings you to a website named like "Adult" something or other, and the name of the poster on that thread is like dirty-sex-blogger. Yes it appears that they're talking seriously about Linux and one can challenge me to perhaps lighten up, but one quick look made me wonder why someone would post technical stuff on a forum which appears more to be a site intended to share links for dirty content.

This is not a porn forum, it is an adult industry forum. Adult webmasters forum is on the top. This is related to things like seo, social media marketing, programing, Linux / server administration, but all related to xxx sites, which are: tubes, adult blogs, tgp sites, adult pinboards, live sex cams, dating, also porn forums. So this is not porn, it is for people who work on these products.

And like I said, this is a great reference and good bookmark. This is a "Newbies" section, so if anybody is new to Linux, I highly recommend going over all these. You can come back to it too. It looks how it looks, but read like 3 or 10 posts, and you will see what I am talking about. Top quality, current, essence of Linux knowledge there.

Yes, but by using a URL shortener, you don't give people chance to perform a sanity check on the link first, and come to a decision. That will, and has, put people off.

Maybe you are not trying to inveigle malware on to people's computers, but you have raised suspicions, and so many people will not want to take the chance. After all, you can find no end of tutorials with a few minutes with a search engine, so, why bother with anything that even looks a bit suspicious?

Glance over 10 random ones, it is good... I recommend reading in full and bookmarking too. Not necessarily for advanced users, but perspectives there are very good.

This is more like soliciting than anything useful.
