(Good) Media Player

I really liked the feel and look of WMC when it came out, even though I did not use it for that TV stuff it was meant for. I just liked the look. I eventually switched to the Zune MP for my Zune, and because it had more flexibility. I want to switch to Linux fully really bad but I really am too hooked on aesthetics and compatibility. Rhythm Box doesn't play the audio files I want or doesn't let me rename the ones I have (certain formats cannot be altered.) In other words, I want a good Media Player/Center that looks nice too. Ideally, it should look like it is a Vista program (not like an XP or 98 program, like most linux apps). Any suggestions would be great. (Oh and please refer only free programs [preferably in the repository.]) THANKS!

If by 'looks' you mean skins, then vlc has a fair few to choose from, and mplayer does too.

Playing 'the audio files you want' often comes down to free vs non-free codecs. If you need to view files encoded in restricted formats, it will often require going to secondary package repositories (universe in Ubuntu).

Which particular formats are causing problems for you?

Amarok, providing you don't mind a bit of kde thrown in there. Looks good and lots of nice features.
