Good guide to Linux in general or red Hat 9
 

Hi!
I'm an absolute Linux-newbee who really want to get started soon. I just installed Red Hat 9, but I really have no idea how it works:) I've been looking around for some good manuals or guides to get me started, but it seems like evrything I find is a bit too advanced for stupid little me...
Does anyone have an idea where I can find something that even a Windows-Zombi can learn from???

Good Books
 

For task specific basics, I've had the most luck with Welsh, Dalheimer's and Kaufman's Running Linux (3d Ed. O'Reilly 1999) and Roderick Smith's Linux Power Tools (2003 Sybex). There's probably more current editions of the O'Reilly book.

I found that I had to read A LOT of more general history of hacking and computers to really begin to absorb what I was reading in the more specific books. If you're the same way, I can list these books too. There are great ones, but there are many, many terrible ones. It took me a long time to find the good ones.
