Question GNU CHess

I Have a 8 year old GNUCHESS RPM with me. itried installing on SLED10 in my new PC , But I was not able to do so. After some trouble, I did install it But when I try to run it is giving some glibc version problem.
Is there any way of installing the old gnuchess package in my new system and start playing chess in the system ?

Just out of curiosity, why don't you want to use a newer version?

compat

Ther are so-called compatibility version of libc, usually extended in their names with 'compat'. You will need these to run very old applications.

Do a search on freshrpm, rpmbone, rpmfind and other similar RPM sites. Run a Google search. A quicksearch result was http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/se...y=compat-glibc

1. I want to use the older version because, some time trivial things like this help us understand the systems better.
2. shows the ways in which we can use old software in new systems where we have the compatibility problem.
3.Want to know whether we can run the program without older GILBC files . I am under the impression that the newer version of the glibc should support older version also and there should not be any dependecies like this
