GnoRPM Question - Please help!!!

I know this question has been asked before, but I need more information.

I am trying to install and start gnoRPM. I am running Red Hat 9.0 on my Pentium III
Dell 2500 Laptop. I installed gnoRPM via an RPM package as it was not installed with my installation CD's.

1) After installing gnoRPM by a command line interface, I attempted to start the program and I get the response:

"Failed to open /var/lib/rpm/packages.rpm" in a separate window and the progam does not open.

I am logged in as the root user and have also tried the suggested remedy of starting gnoRPM through the command line interface doing a "su" before triggering the program.

This does not work. Is there anything else that will remedy this problem?

2) I am curious as to why this program was not installed when I initially installed Red Hat 9.0. I may have omitted this package but would also like to know if it is included on the installation disks, which section is it included in.

Thanks, and someone PLEASE HELP!!!!

You want to specify the full path and filename for the program and for all file arguments when using the command line as root. Beyond that, I don't know. Let's see what someone else comes up with.
