GNOME upgrades


How do I upgrade GNOME in Fedora Core 1?
can I just download it frome the GNOME site?

what do I have to do?

you can download from gnome the source code. You have to compile them, and then pray.

You may go to any of the Fedora download mirrors, goto dist. 2 (Fedora Core 2), download all the gnome rpm's from the RPMs folder (version 2.6.0; the latest is 2.6.2 - you can get that from the foler test->2.90->i386->os->Fedora->rpms) and do an rpm upgrade. If you are missing some file, rpm will tell you the name of the missing file. Get it and repeat the upgrade process.

As Mr.Bill.Gates pointed out, click on the link, then click on a site that is closest to you, then click on 2 if you want Gnome version 2.6.0 or test if you want Gnome version 2.6.2. The location of the Gnome files are mentioned in my previous posting.
