Gnome toolbar, or lack thereof
I just installed Gnome onto my redhat 6.2 (which is probably the wrong version for a newbie), and when I booted it up everything was working great, except the toolbar had thought it beneath its dignity to show up. Any help, please?

there was no toolbar at all? or just no toolbar at the bottom?
If there's nothing at all, try running "gnome-panel &". Iif there are some panels but not one you want to have at the bottom of the screen this is a case of right-clicking an existing panel then creating a new one where you want it. |
I think on 6.2 the command was simply
panel & |
ah right, redhat stuff, sorry ;)

Thanks :D

Gnome-ERROR **: file gnome-dentry.c: line 145 (gnome_desktop_entry_load_flags_conditional): assertion failed: (file != NULL) aborting...
[1]+ Aborted (core dumped) panel That is what I get every time I put the panel & or control-panel & in. It worked at first, but then it stopped working for some reason. Any help? |
err... i'll have to defer to darth-tux on this one (happy birthday by the way)
EDIT: oh, and there's a red hat forum now as I'm sure you know... try there. |
