Gnome Splash Screen "Blues"

Hello,

I seem to have a question that a few people have touched on but in reference to KDE. The problem is with the color of the background that is displayed after the graphical login from gdm but before The desktop loads... that instant when the splash screen displays and Gnome initializes.

I simply would like to change the color but cannot for the life of me locate the configuration file that controls this attribute. I can change the background for GRUB and the login theme, I can even change the splash screen itself... but alas I am finding no answers to resolve this issue.
