gnome-panel crash

I updated with Redhat recently. Since then I started to notice occasionally that the gnome-panel would crash, usually when I was logging out or shutting down. Today it crashed during bootup and could not recover. Fortunently I know enough to be able to bring up my brouser and a few other things without the panel. What needs to be done to restore the gnome-panel. Do I use rpm to uninstall and then reinstall from the CD? Or is it a problem with my settings? How do I know the difference?

Thanks

try logging in as a different user. If it doesn't crash you know it's in your settings

OK. I logged into another account and there was no problem. How do I correct my settings?

Thanks

if it is the case.one think can be done for that.
u can delete your gnome config dir. under ur home folder.

[staff@ws061 staff]$ rm -rf .gnome*
[staff@ws061 staff]$

delete ur config. file.

so that ur previous configuration will not be there.

if it works then fine.

I AM NOT SURE.IT MAY WORK WELL.

PLS TELL ME IF IT WORKS.
