Gnome on SuSE 9.1 Personal

Hello friends,

I have installed SuSE 9.1 Personal and I'm currently using KDE as my window manager, but I wanna give Gnome a little try.

When checking out YAST, I see that the Gnome-related packages are already installed, but still I'm unable to choose it when the X login screen shows up...what must I do to get it to work?

thank you

Do you mean Gnome is not an available choice or do you mean it won't allow you to choose Gnome?

It is unavailable, there is no "session type" choice available at all...I've also already tried changing the configuration file for default window manager and default desktop manager but that didn't do any good

thanks for the reply
