GNOME on RHEL 5
 

Want to install GNOME on RHEL server OS to make life easier. Can it be done and if so, how? From a NEWBIE.

as root, run presuming that you have RHN access configured. if you do NOT have RHN access paid for, then you really have NO BUSINESS running RHEL5 and should installed / migrate to CentOS instead.

Also unless you MUST USE the older RHEL5 ( RHEL 5.9 is the current and very last minor upgrade in the older 5 series)
for old legacy hardware or old legacy software needs
it would be advisable to install the current RHEL 6.4
