Gnome/KDE choice

Hi I've just installed RH9 with both GUI options. It boots to Gnome but when I used RH7 I used to get a choice but I can't find out how to change it.

Please help and thanks in advance.

Looks like you've set the gdm to autostart and login an user. In Gnome, click in >>applications>>system settings>>login screen

There you might be able to see an option at the second menu like:

"Automatically login user at boot up". (more or less)

Simply disable it .

Click on the SESSION button at the bottom of the login screen - you'll get a choice then

hi

if you dont have to type a password to login into gnome then it means that you have autologin enabled. disable it and click on the session button on the login screen.

/etc/sysconfig/desktop

has the necessary option to always boot into kde

DESKTOPMANAGER="KDE"
DISPLAYMANAGER="KDE"

should set everything to kde
