Using centos 6.2
i have installed gnome using

yum groupinstall windows-desktop desktop-platform x11 fonts
everything for the install went fine... but when i type the startx to get it running the screen blanks flashes goes a pale blue as if gnome were starting, but then closes itself leaving me with a message of

waiting for x server shutdown
i tried creating a tmp file of what happened to gather more info using :
Code:
startx ¬ /tmp/startxlg
but nothing is created so this is all i got atm? anyone seen this before?
