GNOME isn't part of Slackware any more. You can use one of the GNOME distributions for Slack to get a GNOME desktop: Freerock, Dropline, GWARE. Or, you could attempt to download the source and build "regular" GNOME for yourself (or even use one of their build tools).

Where can i get the source i've googled Gnome source code and found nothing. Also i wanted to know how hard is it to build Gnome from scratch i mean i have no programming background but i am looking for something that will keep me busy for a while so i would like to try this.

If you go to gnome.org, there's a link that says "Download". That page gives you info about their build tools and links to downloads for the tarballs. There is some info somewhere about the order in which to build packages if you want to do it completely by hand, but they don't recommend it.
