Gnome flash notify Gaim
 

Hey all,
I'm new to Linux and just started using it. I installed latest version of Gaim 1.1 and enabled the Flash notify plugin with all options checked. This, technically, should set the URGENT hint and my Gnome panel window should be flashed a few times when someone messages me, but all I get is a sound.
Can anyone help me with this? I really need this to work, cause playing a sound is no substitute for flashing windows.

p.s. I have Gnome v 2.8 and Fedora Core 3.

yea, flashing doesnt work, ive tested it multiple times, try the GAIM bug tracker, i did get mine to append something to the statusbar, like a ***** so it would make a change and it was just enough for my eyes to see it, try that

The plugin "guinotifications" helps somewhat and does flash in the tray.
