Gnome fatal error

ok here it is.... I think it might still be messed up from my initial "Radeonfb" thing I tried. Throughout the log it talks about loading the ATI drivers etc etc. the last 2 days the screen resoloution has been near perfect. now all of a sudden today the text on the left is "smashed" (for lack of a better word) together and/or cut off. also the same if the text makes it over to the right side of the screen. This was not happening before today. but here is the end of the log file:

assinging device section with no busID to primary bevice

cipset vesa found

assining device section with no busID to primary device

chipset generic found

server error:

cannot run in framebuffer mode. please specify busIDs for all framebuffer devices

consult the The X.org foundation bal bla bal......

I have the kernel on vesafb no ATI selected. my grub.conf:

default 0
timeout 30
splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz

title=Gentoo Linux 2.6.13-r5
root (hd0,0)
kernel /kernel-genkernel-x86-2.6.13-gentoo-r5 root=/dev/ram0 init=/linuxrc ramdisk=8192 real_root=/dev/hda3 udev
initrd /initramfs-genkernel-x86-2.6.13-gentoo-r5 video=vesafb:ywrap,mtrr vga=0x31A
let me know what else is needed if need be.

now gnome worked before I added "video=vesafb:ywrap,mtrr vga=0x31A " to the grub.conf

err, so maybe it would be a good idea to edit /etc/grub.conf again and take it out, no?
