Gnome desktop problem
Hi,
I hope I am a refreshing change around here because although I'm a Linux newbie, I've already figured out a lot and my question should be easy. Ok, when I start Gnome, my desktop is gone. There's no icons and I can't get any menus when I right-click. I looked at all the running processes, and I noticed one that said:
nautilus --nodesktop
(or maybe it was: nautilus --no-desktop)
Anyway, I know nautilus is supposed to build Gnome's desktop, so went into a terminal and entered
nautilus - q
to quit nautilus. I then restarted it and the desktop came back. My questions are
1. What would make nautilus start with the --nodesktop option?
2. How can I fix it so it starts up normally when I start up Gnome.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
