Gnome - changing 24bit to 16 bit


I tried x86config and went through the process changing the config to 16 bit. Saved. Restarted. Didn't change. Is there somewhere else to change the resolution?

Thanks for any help or for listening.

nm, I got it to work. Just edited xf86conf-a with vim
