gnome and x window question
do i need x windows to run command line only? if i dont need x windows then how do i uninstall gnome and x windows to go strictly command line?

no. If you don't have that much info on you can back it up and reinstall and just get a minimal install and don't select gone or kde.

what if i have to much info. how would i uninstall gnome or x window? is it possible without reinstalling the os?

you can uninstall gnome and X on Redhat using the rpm -e command (I think most of the rpm packages for X are called XFree-86-xxxxxxx.
If your booting into the gnome interface (GUI) then open /etc/inittab and change the line that says id:5:initdefault: to read id:3:initdefault: in order to boot into the command line |
