Question Gnome and Shortcuts

I am running RH7.2 and using Gnome as my WM. How do you create a shortcut using Gnome??? Also, I have a program that needs Java Virtual Machine to run. To run this program I type the following commond in a shell ./ The program then starts. Is there anyway to create a shortcut on my Gnome desktop to start the program instead of having to go into a shell???

You can do it in 2 ways min.( as far as I know)

1. add an icon to panel .
For this rightclick on panel first and then on panel ,then 'add to panel ' and then on launcher
give the full path of the command that you want to run in the "command field" (and also u can give a name to the icon and a comment ( that will be displayed when you place mouse over the icon))..

2. add it to the menu.

First click on Menu button ---------.> Settings--------> menu editor
then add new item similar as above wherever you want.

Thank you so much for responding. I was beginning to wonder if there was even a way.
