Gnome and connecting to the internet

I am trying to use Gnome... KDE is what I'm used to, and it's okay, but I really like the minimalist approach and speed of Gnome (not too minimalist, though). I want to use a program other than kinternet to connect to the internet, since kinternet seems to crash a lot in gnome. Is there a gnome equivalent? There's gotta be, right?
