gMPlayer DVD problem

Hey guys. i just installed gmplayer, all works, just great. plays avi, divx and all.

however! when i trow in a DVD rom, it will open gmplayer, and nohting
nothing
so ok i 'locate' viea the 'eject' button on gmplayer to find the files and play them. well NOTHING shows up in the dvd rom witch is /media/cdrom

Im using SuSE9.0 & all is updated..

how can i fix this?
thanks

you mean just a data dvd? well it's presumably not mounted... can you see the content outside of mplayer?

nope. not that easy :)

Xine plays the dvd's with sound. but its kinda 'choppy'
kafiene plays the dvd with no sound. i didn't bother to play with that to see why..

but mplayer, will open. no data loads. click the eject to find the files. and it shows nothing in the dvd, its looking for 'video files' and i can't change what its looking for. When i go trought a cmd line, i go into the /media/dvd and it shows nothing. but yet its playing right now in xine...

whats up with that?

you're just using mplayer wrong.... but i never use the UI on mplayer.. just try "mplayer dvd://1"

hey man. that worked. just wondering why that works but any other way wont? like opening the dvd with gmplayer?

anyways thanks. 1 more thing thoe. dvd's seem to be choppy. how come? could it be drivers? or just the fact that my dvd player is old?

There is a dvd menu in gmplayer.

Right-click on the video output screen. You'll see a DVD sub-menu. Click on 'Open Disc' in that menu.
