In your screenshot in that other thread, you have a flag plugin for gkrellm. I am assuming that it is aflag_anim-0.1.tar.gz . Is that right? Did you have trouble installing it?
I downloaded and installed gkrellm-2.1.15.tar.bz2, so I have a $HOME/.gkrellm2/plugins directory. The other plugins are there and work. The .so files they created have a mode of 755. The aflag_anim.so file was, well I don't remember now, but it was white, not green like the others. It didn't work that way. I chmod 755'd it and that didn't work either. I noticed that there was an aflag_anim.so file in the ../.gkrellm2/plugins/aflag directory and it was larger than the .so file that the make process put in the plugins directory. So I copied it in there. And that didn't work either.
Any ideas? Maybe it was a different plugin altogether.
It must be the fact that you are using Gkrellm-2.x based off Gtk-2.x, Gdk-2.x and glib-2.x, I am as well running Gkrellm based off versions 1.2 of aforementiioned dependencies and the American Flag plugin works fine, but I have another hurdle with Solaris - I isntalled Gkrellm and I cannot add any plugins to it, but it is another discussion.
