The command to start gimpshop is : /usr/local/bin/gimp
ls -l : gimp -> gimp-2.2* , i.e gimp is a link to gimp-2.2

There are no menu entry / <desktop-entry> in the package.
( You can create an 'Icon' yourself.)

The command : dpkg -L gimpshop
.. will display all the files in the package 'gimpshop'

..

WHAT ??
you are tiring to use the MICROSOFT .exe in ubuntu
you DO NOT !!!!( might in wine, but why would one want to)
install/use the linux program!!!

also the program " gimpshop" is VERY old and is using a very od version of gimp
it is using the very old 2.2 code
Gimp is currently version 2.6.13 ( 2.6 VS. 2.2 )
it is about 5 years out of date .

just install the CURRENT version of " The Gimp"
http://www.gimp.org/
for Ubuntu run this
Code:
apt-get install gimp
but it should have been installed by default

it is a VERY old hack to get gimp to look like and behave like Photoshop on MS Windows .
and thought long dead . Now there is talk of Gimp 3.0 to have only one window( the Adobe way) and there are Dev previews of that

I have decided with your help to drop this idea, but if I feel the need to I will go through wine.

Thank you.
