Gigolo wants a password for a Windows share

Since I upgraded my system from Ubuntu 12.04 to Ubuntu 12.10 Gigolo comes up time and again, asking me for a password for mounting my Windows share on my NAS. As is mostly the case with Windows shares, and certainly is the case with mine, it has no password. Gigolo connects and mounts the share OK, but the repeated appearance of the "password box" is driving me to distraction. Has anyone any idea on how to make Gigolo accept the facts and behave itself?

You could simply add a line to /etc/fstab to have it automatically mounted at boot. If you have a laptop, just make sure it can boot even if the share is not accessible. You need to use the "cifs" filesystem. It is documented, just use Google or your favorite search engine to find more information.

Gigolo is not at fault here

I have just figured out that Gigolo is not likely to be the problem. If I click "do not connect" in this small panel, the drive still get mounted OK.
So I presume this is some function of some other aspect of the Ubuntu network setup. Any hints as to where I can look to find the culprit so I can disable this?
