gFTP help - It's all Greek to me.

Okay so I have gFTP from Fedora Core 1 (I need to scrounge up some data disks to transfer the Fedora Core 4 I just downloaded) and I don't know where to start to set up an HTTP server. I know I have to go into FTP => Options => FTP and change the proxy type to HTTP Proxy from the drag down menu and then do the same in FTP => Options => HTTP. I got that from a tutorial and then it said to enter my server info in the FTP and HTTP tabs. I don't know what to put in. I'm using GNOME. Doing this will make it so I can run a .com off of myself right?

I think you're confused becuase you are using aboslutely the wrong program in almost every way imaginable. gftp is just a gnome ftp client. you appear to be wanting to host your own website. that's Apache primarily, and DNS resolution to sort out and then whatever you want to actually do with it. why did you think a noddy little ftp client would help you?

Install Apache to host your website. Use granitecanyon.com to run your DNS for you (free DNS hosting, so you don't have to worry about bind/djbdns/whatever).
