Getting Used to (Loving) Linux

I am trying LXLE on a netbook with an Atom processor. What packages should I avoid on this OS?

I'm not sure I understand your question. Obviously you remove any optional packages that you're not interested in. Remember that just about every package, ones that you are interested in, has dependencies. You will be interested in these dependencies if you want the package that you are interested in to work.

In any event, it's as easy to remove packages as it is to install them (assuming no other package depends on them be installed). Perhaps if you could explain what you're worried about we could address your issues more adequately.

The link below here at LQ has some information on installing software on LXLE which is apparently another Ubuntu derivative. BAsically, you are best off using only software from the repositories but you can install other software.
