Getting the Warning message to the script


Hi Guys,
I want to know, How to read a warning message from the prompt.
For Eg,
If we type,
>su <username>
Warning: Password will expire in <some> days.

Could you tell me how to read this type of warning message from the prompt.

wait by "read" you mean make heads and tails of it... or to read it from the history?

I can not redirect it to stdout or stderr.. that is the problem..
