Getting started with apache jdk mysql

Hi everyone

I have installed tomcat in fedorar core 5 64bit
how to run a servlet by using this??

I have seen that the environmental variable should be assigned the value i.e path of the jdk installation directory

I have got the following queiries

1) How to know the home directory where the jdk has been installed
2) How to know the home directory of the tomcat
3) Do i need to make any specific changes so that servlet that is being requested from apache webserver will be run by tomcat??

My aim is to set a Webserver with tomcat and mysql support
I have installed all the packages
i want to create a dynamic page which searches for some industries based on stipend,accomodation,......

Please guide me what to do??

waiting for a nice reply
THANKS IN ADVANCE
