Okay, I am sure this question has been asked 100 times, but here goes. I just installed SuSE 9.1 on my machine (hooray for dual booting!) but I am having some issues with getting online and getting my sound working. With the internet, I can use Yast to set up a new connection to the internet, i.e. it can recognize my modem, and I found my ISP on the list etc...but I cannot get it to work right. Secondly, SuSE seems to be able to detect my sound card, I can see it in the list of sound devices when I go to configure it, but it doesn't work right.

Any help?

what sound card ? chipset names ? "lspci -v" output ?

and what does doentt work right mean ?
poor sound quality ? no sound ?

and what does modem not working right mean ?
have you entered your ISP phone nuumber / usnername / password correcty ?

what type of authentication does your ISP use ?

and what does not working properly mean ???
no dial tone ?
does it dial at all ?
does it dial but fail to authenticate ?
does it dial and connect but then die ?
transfere speeds to low ?
random dissconections ?
smoke ?
is it on fire ?
