getting on the net!!! on centos 4.0

Hi ive got a w/d 200gb sata drive as my main hdd for windows, I also have a 40gb ide for centos. when I click on firefox I get no web page. also if I try and ping google, i cant. I think I need to configure my modem or network card. I have a dg834. can anyone please help me

Was your network card detected during install? If so did you configure it? What does ifconfig -a show?

How do you connect to the Internet, via a LAN with a router, dial-up, or direct connection to a cable/DSL modem?

it didnt see it on install. the ethernet card is o/b. its an asus k8s-mx
