What's your distro? (Slackware, RedHat, Gentoo, etc.)

peacebwitchu 04-12-2004 04:18 PM

Are the orinoco modules inserted in the kernel you can tell by "lsmod" try "modprobe orinoco_cs" or just insert your card you should hear a "beep".

If you see orinoco_cs

then do "iwconfig wlan0 essid youressid" or whatever that driver brings up sometimes it's eth1

Then set your ip with ifconfig or dhclient.

Yes type the commands in the terminal. I don't know what your essid is, it is whatever you set it on the AP.

I use the hostap driver on fedora with my cheap Proxim harmony wireless card, and it works fine. Do a google search for "Fedora Proxim harmony hostap" or something like that.
