getting installed for ffmpeg

I am trying to do stuff with ffmpeg and I need the vhook installed. It didn't install when I compiled ffmpeg. Been searching online for a while now and nothing has worked so far. ffmpeg itself didn't install it, there is a imlib2.c but no .so. I am sorry I can't be more specific.
