Getting Frets On Fire to work in Xubuntu
 

Hi there, I am very very new to linux I have been using windows my whole life but then my computer crashed and so I bought a used computer running Xubuntu on it. I found this game on the internet called frets on fire (basically a free version of the guitar hero series) but I need VERY basic instructions on how to make it work starting with when i start the download if you would like the download o to google and search

then it should be the first link
(I would have just provided the download link but this is my first post so apparently im not allowed)
and donèt worry I am clicking the linux download

I have been trying to get it to work all day and I guess I need help

1st you'll need to extract the tar file. This can usually be done by simply double clicking the file and clicking on extract. Select the directory you want the files extracted to and click extract again. This can also be done via terminal. If you downloaded the tar file to your desktop, open terminal, type: cd Desktop, then type: tar -zxvf FretsOnFire-1.2.512-linux.tar.gz This will extract the files to your desktop. You will then have a folder called FretsOnFire. Open this folder and find the file called FretsOnFire, double click that file and the program will launch.
