Question Getting files from my Linux machine

I have a Windows Me machine talking to a Linux based computer using Samba. If I am on the Linux computer, I can look at and use the files.

How do I do this the other way around? I can telnet to my Linux computer, but when I try to FTP to the Linux machine's IP, it tells me "Connection closed by host". I don't have any firewall software running and I have even tried putting the line

ALL: ip address

in my hosts.allow file. Obviously I am doing something wrong--any ideas? Thanks!

To setup your Linux box so you can share files with windoze, you need to define some shared directories.

If you have SWAT enabled (/etc/xinetd.d/swat installed and configured), then point your browser on the linux box to "http://localhost:901" to run the Samba configurator. Go to the shares section and put in a new one.
