Question Getting error during OS install on HP envy 14

So I was given an HP envy 14, intel i5. The person who gave it to me told me they had booted from a kali live usb and deleted the WHOLE hard drive, everything, and it got stuck in GRUB. so they took the PHYSICAL Disk drive out and replaced it with a SSD.

and now I have it.

Now, if I just turn it on it will let me press F9 or F10, but if I don't it just goes to a blank screen with a _ at the top left corner. I made a good flash drive with BlackArch Linux on it and where I am at is I can boot from the flash drive, I get to the install menu for BlackArch. When I select to "Boot the BlackArch Linux ISO on BIOS" it looks good for a second then I get

Quote:
Probing EDD (edd=off to disable).... ok
[ 0.126604] x86/cpu: vmx (outside TXT disabled by
[ 3.113063] ata2:COMRESET failed (errno=-32)
[ 13.256331] " " "
[ 23.283013] " ...... and so on for a few more lines
While I am in the install menu I have access to a "Hardware Detection or Information Tool" (HDT Blackarch calls it) But I can not figure out what to do from here. I can usually figure this stuff out and thiss is the first time I have ever posted on an online forum so I hope I was Clear in expressing my situation. Thank you for your Time and Thank you for any help.

Have you gone through the system (BIOS) settings?
You might also check that SSD drive and make sure the previous owner did not get a bad one.

There is no indication in your post that there is any OS installed on the SSD, is there? If so, what? The _ on boot indicates an improperly installed bootloader, at least if it was using Grub. There are quite a few sites discussing the error mentioned, link to one below. If you try the various suggestions you find, make sure to note what you did so you can change it later if needed.

I doubt you will be able to help with that as we have no idea what is on that menu. I for one, have never heard of BlackArch so you might post a link to their site.
