Getting a networked HP printer to print landscape

Hi, I have setup my HP printers on the network with no probs however we use printer option files that contain PCL to control the output to a certain degree but on our previous unix system I was able to setup a print queue either as Landscape or Portrait and that was setup at a system level. Can i do the same thing with Linux Enterprise ES v4, if so how.

Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing that you have "cups" installed. You will probably have to have a play with that. I've never bothered when it comes to my network printer i.e. not bothered to change anything as it's always worked just fine with the default settings.

I access cups via a browser with http://localhost:631 as the address - it probably only accepts root as the user and the root password (I can usually get cups to start, but when I try to "manage" the printer(s) it asks for a username and password). Then you should be able to go to the printer and modify it or whatever - if you remember what you change you can always revert back to the original settings.

Though surely, doesn't it just print a landscape document, if thats how the document is set up as in the first place ???

regards

John
